With over 19 years of experience in the construction industry, Wesley Gibbs is the co-director and owner of Vulcan Passive Fire Protection. His career began at 15 when he pursued an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery at Brighton City College. Over three years, he gained an NVQ Level 3 qualification, developing a strong foundation in construction while working on various fire prevention projects.
In 2012, Wesley broadened his experience internationally, working as a carpenter and joiner in Sydney and Brisbane, Australia. His career then took him to New York City, where he contributed to a prestigious shopfitting project on 5th Avenue. These global experiences enhanced his technical expertise and adaptability, skills he later brought back to the UK, where he continued working in 1st and 2nd fix carpentry.
By 2021, Wesley transitioned into passive fire protection, quickly progressing from installer to manager. Leading a team of 25 professionals across the South of England, he specialised in fire door installation, maintenance, and firestopping. His hands-on approach, leadership, and problem-solving abilities across multiple sectors led to the co-founding of Vulcan Passive Fire Protection in 2023.
